Our Literacy Curriculum is based on embracing Literacy as a continuous process of learning. Consequently, our carefully planned Literacy Program aims for children to:
- Develop a positive feeling towards literacy by being exposed to a language-rich environment
- Enjoy and participate in meaningful language and literacy experiences during every part of the daily routine through play
- Have a positive experience in Literature, with regular opportunities to engage with books and stories
- Have an increasing understanding that print has meaning
- Learn about language, writing and reading through social experiences
- Learn sounds through The Jolly Phonics scheme
- Understand the link between sounds and letters
